I am a professional potter living with my wife Kari in Indianapolis. I currently work at the American Art Clay Company (AMACO as us potters call it) where I can explore and hone my craft; as well as pass the desire onto others. The work I typically make centers around my desire to be spontaneous and simply imaginative (which you can see in the gallery section). I also have been teaching pottery classes to both adults and kids for the last 4 years. You can find more information about classes and other current events throughout the website. You have an actual degree in mud…?

Yes, I actually went to school to learn to play around in mud. Which isn’t for most people, but it certainly was for me! Including learning to throw in high school, I have been doing ceramics for over 8 years!

What kind of pottery to do you actually make?

I consider myself one of those potters who will make the usual functional pots here and there. But ultimately, I like to just sit down at my wheel and play. You’ll see that I dont always stay with one idea but pursue a desire and then try out a new one down the road.
